Gegründet wurde die Band SYMBRID Anfang 2009. Der Bandname ist ein Wortspiel und setzt sich aus den Begriffen „Symbiose“ und
„Hybrid“ zusammen.
„Symbiose“ bezeichnet die Vergesellschaftung von Individuen unterschiedlicher Arten, die für beide Partner von Vorteil ist. „Hybrid“ ist die Mischung oder Kreuzung von mehreren Technologien miteinander.
